#### Education

University of Richmond - BA, Mathematics#### Experience

In addition to being a tutor, I am a sports enthusiast. In college, I played division one field hockey. As an athlete, I learned that practice is the only way to improve one's skills in any area. Whether the skill in question is agility, speed, reading, or writing, practice is essential to learning and growth. I have carried this philosophy into the classroom, where I teach my students that knowledge must be earned through hard work and diligent practice. In order to facilitate this practice, I make sure to provide my students with many opportunities to hone their real-world problem-solving skills so that they can apply the material that I am teaching in the classroom. I am best at teaching math. I have a degree in mathematics with a minor in education from the University of Richmond. My focus is in teaching elementary school students. Most of my tutoring experience has been helping students with their math skills. I find that my problem-solving-based teaching philosophy works well with math because, as a discipline, math provides countless examples to practice and test one's abilities. My hobbies include playing sports. I aspire to, one day, become a full-time teacher and coach for an elementary school.#### Hobbies
